“I hate space”, says Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock), offering some comical relief to this intense science fiction thriller, while she floats alone in space! Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) and Ryan Stone ( Sandra Bullock) make a fantastic team together, you can just feel theBreakdown chemistry radiate off the movie screen; although the original casting had Angelina Jolie & Robert Downey Jr, I feel the movie was superb with who performed!

I was originally concerned I wouldn’t enjoy gravity due to the fact the trailers reminded me of “Open Water” and were very cryptic. But it was a pleasant suprise to be wrong! The movie languished in development for four years because director Cauron was unhappy with the technology of the time and wanted to wait for it to improve so he could satisfy his vision for the movie. During the “Space Walk” scenes, they actually only filmed the faces of the actors and digitally created their bodies to give them a more realistic movement.

Gravity receives a 10/10 for its dynamic scale and impressive detail that they went into to give you an authentic space experience! Catch this thriller on an IMAX 3D screen now for the full affect before its to late!

From the director that brought you Hellboy and Blade 2 brings you yet again another scifi thriller with lots of creatures and ass kicking, “Pacific Rim”. Travis Beacham, the screen writer for this film, originally got the idea while walking Breakdownalong the California coast on a foggy day when a pier looked like a creature walking out of the ocean; and he imagined a robot waiting on the coastline to greet it.

Idris Elba does a fantastic job of adding that military aspect to the film when he plays Stacker Penecost, an Army General, Tom Cruise was originially considered for this role but had scheduling issues. Pacific Rim has a unique feeling, Its “Reel Steel” meets, “The Matrix“, Meets “Godzilla“, truly a one of a kind movie!

The film only receives an 8/10 for two reasons. I felt that in the beginning they rushed the back story on the MAIN CHARACTER and the history of the “Jaeger Program”. Second, right towards the end they try to throw some romance in. I feel if your going to make a sci-fi action thriller, stay consistent because it kinda suddenly throws you off! But other than that, superb movie and deffinitly a suggested watch and kid approved!

Owen-Wilson-and-Vince-Vaughn-in-The-Internship-2013-Movie-Image

Your two favorite Wedding Crashers, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are back to rock your socks off in this hilariously funny spin on the digital world, “The Internship”! This film offers a funny perspective on some real life situations Breakdownthat are other wise rather depressing. Two men from Generation X whom have had a non-technical job, are fired and shoved into  a world of technology where tweets and Facebook rule!

It’s very refreshing to see the screen writers touching on how difficult it is for young adults in this century to succeed in their dreams. The old cookie cutter american dream of going to college, get a job, and live happily ever after just isn’t really an option these days when 53% of recent college grads are unable to find work.

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson definitely show the technological gap between people from generation X and our current generation when they are accepted into an internship at Google. Watching two guys who know nothing about technology try to compete against the geeks of the nation offers some great humor as is, but add Vince’s and Owen’s since of humor on top of that and your bound to find your self laughing a every turn.

The Internship receives a 6/10. It kept me very entertained and touched on some hardcore current issues in a light way, but I feel it had the potential to be so much funnier. I mean come on, its Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson! The movie is a great family movie, guaranteed to leave you with a smile!

Who says geeks cant be action heroes? Well in the movie “Firewall“, action hero Harrison Ford plays “Jack Stanfield”, a bank network security administrator, who is blackmailed into stealing money while his family is held captive. BreakdownAs a Harrison Ford fan, it was unique to watch him play a role that was out of his normal acting style.

Firewall was a pretty well done movie. Although it does still fall into the cookie cutter sequencing of a “Family hostage movie”. But like the others, firewall has a unique spin, setting it apart. If your looking for an intense shoot-em up movie, Firewall is not for you; they bring a healthy balance of a action and thriller which truly makes this movie an enjoyable experience.

This film receives a 6/10 because although it was similar to its counterparts, it still made for a good movie and an enjoyable time. I actually picked up firewall in the Walmart $5 bin, so I definitely suggest you pick up your copy and plan a date night!

Elysium

Wow, thats the first thought that comes to mind when I think of the movie “Elysium”. I originally wasn’t that interested in seeing this film, from the previews it didn’t seem like a movie worth seeing in theaters. But oh boy was I Breakdownwrong, it was just down right awesome!

Elysium had the feeling of “Water World” and “Dooms Day”, but kick-ass futuristic weapons and vehicles thrown in and you have your self a movie! For all you “HALO” fans, you may actually recognize the habitat the wealthy live on in space, its almost identical to that of the one in Halo.

The writers did a superb job distinguishing between the two classes of people. You have the wealthy, whom live clean and disease free lives running the world as they see fit; and than you have the poor/average folks who have to get by with the corrupt and unbalanced system the wealthy have put into place! Sound familiar?

This film receives a 10/10 for its well written storyline which brings real life problems into a world of fantasy, and its very well done graphics which make the action scenes MIND BLOWING!

Evolution: The change in the inherited characteristics of a biological population. What would happen to the plant and Breakdownanimal life if man kinda ruined Earths Eco-system so bad that humans had to leave? Would they die off? Evolve and adapt to the new environment? Well in “After Earth” you get to find out and experience just that!

As the second “Father-Son” movie together, Jaden Smith (Kitai Raige) and Will Smith (Cypher Raige) make a fantastic team in this sci-fi action thriller. You can tell Will Smith definitely lets his son take the lead in this movie, given for the majority of the film you are focused on Jaden, but they still make a pretty good pair through out the movie, bringing that real life father-son drama to the screen.

The Original idea for this movie was to be a father-son camping trip gone wrong when their car goes careening off the road and the son would have to make his way threw the woods to find help for his injured father. But producer Will Smith and screen writer Gary Whitta decided to take the film on a much larger, sci-fi scale!

After Earth receives a 7/10 for overall performance. I found my self at the middle of the road with this movie, because the graphics and CGI are some of the best I have seen in a long time, but they go to great lengths to make sure its just the two of them on Earth and it felt a little rushed. Great movie to put on your wishlist, and its even kid friendly which is a plus!

“I’ll be back”, “Yippie Kay Yay”, “I only work a lone”. Just a few of the catch phrases that come from some of the legendary action movie stars that you are gonna see in “Expendables 2″.  Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger Expendables 2 Breakdown(god he has a long last name to spell) actually have a more substantial role in this film compared to the first Expendables. Since every one is curious of the “Top Cast Members” here is a list: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude van damme, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Terry Crews. During production one stuntman died and another was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

If you are looking for a major change from the first Expendables, you will be disappointed. Its still just a movie with the most famous action movie actors doing what they do best, kicking ass and using their overly used and cheesy lines. But occasionally its nice to have a mindless movie with lots of explosions and testosterone!

Expendables two received a 6/10. The plot wasn’t horrible, flowed well, and didn’t bore me! Of course the acting was epic, and with all the explosions, special effects, and ass kicking, I found it hard not to give it a 10/10, but due to its similarity to the first, I had to knock a few points off.

9/10

Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, couple gets engaged, couple has a crazy wedding with their even crazier families! That’s the basics of the plot behind this hilariously funny romantic comedy, but with a twist setting it apartThe Big Wedding Breakdown from every other crazy family movie!

Robert De Niro plays “Don”, the father of Alejandro (Ben Barnes) whom is the groom to be. Don cheats on his wife with her best friend which adds that extra level of drama during his sons wedding! You also get to watch Robin Williams play a priest again like he did in “License to Wed” adding the same silly, light hearted attitude to this movie!

I gave this movie a 9/10 because I found it hilariously funny, and it hits home in many ways! Sprinkle some real life drama and scandals in with some great characters, equals out to be a fantastic movie! I would not consider this movie kid friendly due to its adult content.

What would happen if aliens came to invade earth and claim it as their own? Well as a scientist in the film “Battleship” so elegantly puts it, “If there is intelligent life out there ad they come here, it’s going to be like Columbus andBattleship Breakdown the Indians, only we’re the Indians.” Battleship is actually loosely based off the battleship board game, and is sponsored by Hasbro.

There hasn’t been a good Naval movie since “The Hunt for Red October“, so it was refreshing to watch a well done, and authentic Navy movie! The writers did a great job with character development, giving you more than enough detail to appreciate each of main characters you follow. The movie is action packed, keeping you on the edge of your seat, and with the fantastic special effects, you feel as if your a sailor in the United States Navy on board a destroyer fighting off aliens!

I decided to give this movie a 9/10 for outstanding graphics, and a plot that keeps you entertained and in suspense. Its also pretty cool and unique knowing the background of this movie came from a board game we all grew up playing!
